Intro 01:04
For several years I lived in a dark and mysterious castle. At night, in the fading candelight, I'd often be visited by ghosts and apparitiions. They'd tell me their stories, some happy, some sad, some weird and some wonderful. These songs tell their stories.

Main Stem 04:24
I could barely see myself in the mirror this morning Man, I'm just fading away I look outside and there's nothing but grey skies draped around me And a miserly rain is falling as I slump back in to my seat I drift to the other side and find dreams of fiery angels Their golden hair leaving trails of shimmering lights Aphrodite calls to me from the emerald lake of desire As I hear blue lions roar by the shores I need to find the main stem! Yes I need to find the main stem! A knock at the door and there's a man in grey suit throwing all these words at me 'You'll be sleeping under flowers one day', he says, 'you need to get out and start making some heat' 'The clock ticks faster every second you sit here thinking about how it could be' 'And the sand of time will always be shifting under your feet' Ghouls and demons come out at night and dance with demonic fury, I'm gonna dance with them tonight Because I'm going to find the main stem! Yes, I'm gonna find the main stem! So I picked up my Betty Mae and I locked away all those frowns I slammed the doorso hard, that house of mirrors came tumbling down I'm off on a jet-plane tonight to the land of kings and queens Gonna play with those fly-cool-cats over there who got the Cream I see a line of no-no men dressed in black and peddling fears They'll wash themselves away with their tears! I'm gonna find the main stem Yes, I'm gonna find the main stem and dance tonight

I'm just a machine, not programmed for desire No emotions or feelings, no hopes or dreams or fears The world is black and white, no shades of pink or green But when at night, when they disconnect me, strange currents run through my wires I can't explain this strange behaviour but when it's late at night... I dream of Barbie Every night I dream of Barbie I dont' know why If she was were a human being, she'd be nine feet tall I don't know what it is about her, there's no logic to it all I wonder if she thinks of me, do I touch her plastic soul? I'm getting tired of this silicon life, life in binary is dull And when she sits on my floppy drive my circuits start to fire I dream of Barbie Every night I dream of Barbie I dont' know why (Barbie, do you play space invaders? Come an play with me. Touch my keys. Yea) I dream of Barbie Every night I love her pinkness Barbie come play with me tonight Computer love, every night I dream of Barbie, cutesy-pie i dream of Barbie

Golden Words 04:26
The deserts arid winds swirls past There's the sound of crackling sand against the glass The air hangs heavy with memory The future's path now obscure to me I knew it would die before it'd begun Scherezade's songs had already been sung And wisdom flees before love's fire But I've learnt that words are easy Words are easy The scent of roses now seems sour The orange blossom just an acid flower When I saw you kiss by the pool I knew you played me for a fool The kings always triumphs over the serf Brazen sounds of thunder smother sounds of the earth Thoughts soon as spoken will soon melt away And that's why words are easy Words are easy Now only the winds remember your words Songs of love for me now are just for the birds in time the desert even swallows the sage Words are easy Words are easy So easy So easy

She came in to the room like a fantasy An absinthe dream become reality Like toy soldiers they fell Drunk on their desire As silken scarves brush the floor But they don't know, she was born with too much fire and though they try to hold her She dances on, as the world explodes She dances on, under crimson skies She dances on through the mists of time She dances on as the devil's laugh and the angels cry An archduke killed at a rebel's hand Mars's thunder rolls through the land Under grey Parisian sies, she meets a man with darkness in his eyes But gleaming medals hide his lies And so she falls, in to a world of shadows But as they close around her She dances on, as the world explodes She dances on, under crimson skies She dances on through the mists of time She dances on as the devil's laugh and the angels cry A flickering candle in the darkness burns It's fading light by the gloom interred All the toy soldiers now have gone Paper heroes to a man As a judge's gavel seals the end And so she falls, cut down one misty dawn But wearing silk and gold She dances on, as the world explodes She dances on, under crimson skies She dances on through the mists of time She dances on as the devil's laugh and the angels cry

Mr Hayes 04:33
Mr Hayes gets the train at quarter past eight He reads the paper, sits in the same seat every day The dreary drum beats for a man with bills to pay He looks out the window, his reflection catches his gaze What happened to those dreams? That young man's fantasies - what happened to them all? He's a man who works nine to five But at night he lies awake Making plans for a different life But it seems so far away The same grey office, same telephone, desk, in-tray overflowing with papers, mindless tasks that fill his days A concrete bunker where those eight hours pass in a daze Then all of a sudden, it's just more than he can take Papers scatter to the floor As he bursts through the office door A bird un-caged he can soar He's a man who works nine to five But at night he lies awake Making plans for a different life But it seems so far away Mr Hayes site in an Old Orleans cafe He's clutching his banjo, the five strings that pay his way Down in the Quarter he sings his songs by the quay He lives with Molly, who works all night and sleeps all day As his thoughts drfit far away to those office days of quiet decay He'll never go there again No in a tatty old armchair from where he surveys his care-free days Still holding that banjo, his thumbs too old and gnarled to play His pockets are empty, for a bohemian life you pay The sun is fading but at least he felt its rays

Dark clouds rampaged across a black Wagnerian sky Tall trees bent their boughs and cried at the tempest's fury The storm battered at the door, flashes of lightning projecting shapes on to the floor A sudden chill fell across the room and the candle's flames did cower The room was filled with the river's fog and a coldness came over And then out of the darkness like a spectral bride should stood before me that night 'Come with me to the other side, come and ride the storms tonight' WIth just one glance the enchantress cast her spell, her sapphire eyes burned bright And down below in the wondering Rhine, the restless waters cried: Lorelei! Oh, Lorelei! Her beauty made fools of men, in whose minds all thoughts would die The bishop called to see the girl, thinking withcraft he'd surely find But overcome with shame, he was consumed in his own lustful flames Three blind knights came to take her away to the Frankish nuns to hide But on that dark and heartless night, she slipped and was claimed by the Rhine And then out of the darkness like a spectral bride should stood before me that night 'Come with me to the other side, come and ride the storms tonight' WIth just one glance the enchantress cast her spell, her sapphire eyes burned bright And down below in the wondering Rhine, the restless waters cried: Lorelei! Oh, Lorelei! The spectre raised her hand and the raging storms did quiet In the calm she softly spoke with sadness in her eyes 'I used to wield a mighty power, for me men would've died' 'But all they saw was Aphrodite's veil and not what my heart desired' 'Dark spirits dance and swirl around the brightest light' 'I used to be weak flesh and blood, playing sweet songs on love's lyre' 'Now I come to claim men's suls and wreak revenge on menkind' 'So be warned: in caskets of gold a poisonous spider lies!' Oh Lorelei! Lorelei!

Here I am, forty watts of light swings above my head I'm underground, but I'm not dead Peeling posters, frozen in time, old glimmers of light from the western side Strange company: paper's with tales unsung and the gleaming barrel of my gun The damp seeps through my bones, the tracks start to creak and moan The U-Bahn comes rattling by i search the windows for your eyes We're divided by history's wall But live under the same blue skies I sometimes wonder 'would you know me at all?' But it's pointless wondering if this wall will ever fall
9.
In the shadow of the trees. the dark rectory stood stern and still Victorian daughters told tales of spooks and sudden chills Like a Sheridan Le Fannu novel I saw an add in Stamford Hill 'Single gentleman ldger needed (dark and brooding better still)' At night I went to the blue room on the first floor In the darkness I felt you there, your pale and eerie stare The click of the door as the key fell to the floor The restless bells rang out as stones clattered across the floor 'Help me Marianne' was the writing on the wall 'Please bring prayers and candles to stop my fall' We kiss by candlelight, oh it's such a thrill to be here with you in deceit as the spirits' veil draws near At night I went to the blue room on the first floor In the darkness I felt you there, the quickening of your breath The click of the door as the key fell to the floor The restless bells rang out as stones clattered across the floor Old Revernd Bull sites in the twilight by the lawn He waits for the nun to pass, but never sees how she mourns With bowls of mercury Harry Price came from London town But in this age of science there's no magic to be found At night I went to the blue room on the first floor In the darkness I felt you there, your pale and eerie stare The click of the door as the key fell to the floor The restless bells rang out as stones clattered across the floor

Under a frosted northern night Navy blue now covers the skies She lies in sheets of white, rigid and tight She rises, hearing calls from the wild, leaving he who stole her smile The night is slient as lead, outside her old life is shed In to the forest where the dew is new and the moss so soft and smooth The mists caress her form as she stands by the shores of the lake Teavataat calls his magic as the waters rise A swan begins to soar leaving ripples of memories fleeing to the shore

about

Laurence Voyager London, UK

Music comes drifting across the valley from a strange and mysterious castle. Sounds of synthesizers, organs, guitar, psychedelia, computers in love, Rhine maidens and wandering souls.

Combining Jimi Hendrix, Jean-Michel Jarre, PSBs I try to create sonic worlds that are interesting and different, yet I still love songs.

Hate over-processed sounds and autotune. Yuk.
